Immich v3.0.3 is here with important updates for self-hosted users. The main highlight is the shift to a dedicated FUTO F-Droid repository. Android users who install via F-Droid should now switch to the new source at https://app.futo.org/fdroid/repo to receive future updates. Also, a critical fix ensures that Live Photos uploaded in the background now appear correctly in the library.
Alongside these, several other bugs were squashed. The album owner could previously be updated without proper authorization, and that’s now locked down. The web interface’s plugin method picker no longer defaults to “unknown” when closed. Visual glitches like incorrect appbar icon color in the asset viewer and jittery Ken Burns effect on Android have been ironed out. Mobile users will also notice that the zoom state resets properly when swapping assets, and the memories widget now sends full datetime data. On the server side, hardware-accelerated video transcoding now correctly sets the hvc1 tag, and memory search date validation has been tightened.
A note for Live Photo enthusiasts: in some edge cases, newly uploaded Live Photos may still have broken thumbnails. Running the “missing” job for thumbnails or waiting for the nightly maintenance task will clear this up. Documentation has been updated to reflect the new F-Droid link and includes fresh guidance on system integrity. Translations have also been refreshed, with a correction to singular/plural person age display.
