The latest patch release for Home Assistant brings a host of quality-of-life fixes and stability improvements that self-hosted users will appreciate. A particularly notable change addresses a long-standing inconsistency where YAML-defined helper entities—such as history_stats, derivative, integration, statistics, threshold, trend, mold_indicator, generic_hygrostat, generic_thermostat, and utility_meter—were incorrectly being assigned a device. This caused unnecessary clutter and confusion in the device registry; now, these entities will no longer have a device association, keeping your setup cleaner and more logical.
Several integrations receive targeted fixes. The Daikin climate integration now correctly maps empty value exceptions to a ‘cannot_connect’ error in the config flow, preventing misleading failures during setup. The IKEA Idasen desk integration gets a bump to version 3.0.1 of its underlying library for improved reliability. UniFi Protect users are now required to have firmware version 7.1 or higher, ensuring compatibility with the latest features and security patches. Additionally, the shopping_list.complete_item action description has been corrected to avoid confusion in automations, and template-based cover, device_tracker, and fan entities now properly catch missing restore keys, preventing unexpected errors when restoring state after restart.
Under the hood, the HTTP configuration migration logic has been refined: it will no longer stage a pending configuration when there’s no YAML to migrate, and the repair flow for HTTP YAML settings now correctly references the Home Assistant version. The frontend has been updated to version 20260729.1, bringing the latest UI fixes and performance tweaks.
